The Chef

Hello! I was born and raised on the right bank of the Hudson River in the beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley of New York. Eventually, I made my way south to The DC where I met my wife, Cheryl, who has nudged and supported my passion for food and cooking. Much to her benefit. ;-)

We packed up and moved to Chicago, where I turned my passion for food and cooking into a career. Great city, I learned a lot there and we launched our first food business in 2015 after sketching it out in a neighborhood brewery. At the dawn of the roaring ‘20s we welcomed the birth of our son and soon after returned to the DC area, where we settled down in Chevy Chase, MD.

I will always remember the sage advice from my mentor and dear friend Chef Julius Russell: ‘always put in more flavor than you think…people won’t tell you if it’s not enough, they will if it’s too much, so don’t hold back, you got this The last bit I really hold on tightly to.

My style reflects the places I’ve lived in and traveled to, as well as the long line of family cooks who fed me growing up. Some of my favorite riffs are flavors and techniques from Spain and France.

When I’m not cooking for people I’m taking care of our son, shopping at Takoma Park Farmers Market, making salumi, and plotting the next ski season’s trips. Also…Deadhead, Newcastle United, Scuderia Ferrari, Yankees.
